Overview

The Game Design & Game Programming programme at UID provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles, methods, and technologies involved in the creation of digital games. The curriculum covers core areas such as game design theory, gameplay mechanics, level and environment design, game programming, AI behaviours, UI/UX for interactive media, and human–computer interaction (HCI).

Students engage in conceptual development, prototyping, technical implementation, iterative playtesting, and collaborative studio production. Emphasis is placed on developing both creative problem-solving abilities and technical competency using industry-standard engines and tools.

The programme prepares learners to conceptualise, design, and program interactive experiences while understanding player psychology, system design, and production workflows. Graduates will be equipped for diverse roles within the global gaming, interactive media, and emerging technology sectors.

Program Curriculum

The program merges design thinking with computational process to provide a studio-based experience which fosters collaboration between artists, designers and computer scientists to make games that push the medium of the game itself.
