The Undergraduate Program in Interior Architecture offers a comprehensive four-year learning journey that integrates design thinking, material understanding, technical proficiency, and cultural awareness. Students begin with fundamental level courses in form, space, and order, supported by visual representation, construction basics, environmental systems, and communication skills. As they progress, they explore interior technologies, building services, material behaviour, and human-centred spatial design, gradually transitioning into advanced design studios. The curriculum balances drawing-based courses, hands-on workshops, electives, and skill-building modules, allowing students to develop personal interests in areas such as sustainability, craft, adaptive reuse, exhibition design, or interior systems. Fieldwork, documentation, research writing, and community-centred projects strengthen real-world engagement. A strong emphasis is placed on sustainability, encouraging students to adopt environmentally responsible materials, energy-efficient systems, and context-sensitive design approaches. The program culminates in an intensive Graduation Project, where students apply their conceptual, technical, and professional abilities to design meaningful interior environments. The UG program nurtures thoughtful designers capable of addressing contemporary spatial needs with creativity, empathy, and technical rigour.
The Interior Architecture program allows students to develop specialisations aligned with emerging industry needs. Learners can focus on interior spatial design, materiality and construction systems, sustainable design approaches, and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. The curriculum also supports pathways in systems design, exhibition and experience design, retail environments, and workplace strategies. Students interested in technical integration may specialise in lighting, acoustics, building services, BIM, and digital visualisation. Research-based specialisations in interior theory, material culture, and writing further broaden academic and professional possibilities, enabling graduates to shape meaningful and innovative interior environments.
Here are the key areas of specialisation that a student can achieve after completing the Interior Architecture program. These align with technical, material, experiential, and research-based pathways.
Graduates of the Interior Architecture program enter a dynamic design industry with wide- ranging career possibilities. They can work as interior architects, spatial designers, or specialists in hospitality, retail, workplace, and residential projects. Opportunities also span exhibition and experience design, adaptive reuse, sustainability consulting, lighting design, and building services integration. With strong technical, AI, and digital skills, graduates can pursue roles in BIM modelling, visualisation, and digital fabrication. The program also prepares students for project management, design entrepreneurship, research, and academic pathways, empowering them to contribute creatively and professionally to the evolving world of interior environments.
