The Bachelor of Design (Hons.) in Product & Service Design at UID is developed in alignment with Rubika ISD’s internationally benchmarked design pedagogy, offering a studio-led, systems-oriented, and industry-integrated learning experience. The programme prepares future design leaders to seamlessly integrate physical products with meaningful digital and service experiences, addressing complex challenges at the intersection of human needs, technology, and business strategy.
Rooted in indigenous knowledge systems, human-centred design, and systems thinking, students engage with emergent technologies such as generative AI, additive manufacturing, and digital platforms to create sustainable, ethical, and user-centric solutions. Through collaborative, project-based studios inspired by real-world service ecosystems, learners develop solutions that balance desirability, feasibility, and viability.
With strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, ethical foresight, and strategic innovation, graduates build robust, industry-ready portfolios reflecting global professional standards. The programme ensures students are globally benchmarked and equipped to lead product, service, and experience innovation across both Indian and international markets.

PEO1: Proficiency in Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems: Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in integrating traditional Indian arts, crafts, and design philosophies into contemporary design practices.
PEO2: Proficiency in Emerging Technologies: Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in the use of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and AR/VR, and their application in design innovation.
PEO3: Effective Collaboration and Communication: Graduates will be able to collaborate effectively with professionals from diverse backgrounds and communicate their design concepts clearly and persuasively.
PEO4: Social, Ethical and Sustainable Design Practices: Graduates will demonstrate ethical responsibility and a commitment to sustainability in their design practice, considering social, cultural, and environmental impacts.

PSO2: Graduates will demonstrate practical proficiency in emergent technologies and possess versatile prototyping skills essential for validating design concepts. Furthermore, they will apply Indian knowledge systems to effectively bridge the gap between forms, interfaces, and services, ensuring the creation of robust, inclusive, and equitable delivery methods for diverse end-users.
PSO3: Graduates will master the formulation of strategic design solutions that successfully balance user desirability with market and business viability. They will demonstrate a sharp ability to identify market opportunities and effectively apply entrepreneurial thinking when navigating and designing complex service ecosystems.
PSO4: Graduates will utilize systems thinking to thoroughly evaluate the social, ethical, and environmental implications of their design proposals.
