The Bachelor of Design (Hons.) in Transportation & Mobility Design at UID is aligned with global standards of automotive and mobility design excellence, providing students with a studio-based, production-focused learning experience. The programme engages students in both artistic and technical fundamentals vital to the transportation sector, including sketching, digital rendering, vehicle design, form language, ergonomics, 3D modelling, CMF design, and design systems. Following a process that reflects the industry’s project-based approach, students work collaboratively in teams to develop mobility solutions that meet international industry standards.
The focus is on storytelling through design, user-centric thinking, and mastering professional tools used by leading OEMs and design studios globally. Students examine a variety of mobility platforms, from personal vehicles and two-wheelers to commercial transport and future mobility ideas, creating detailed design narratives based on context and innovation.
Graduates develop robust portfolios reflecting real-world automotive design workflows and are career-ready for roles such as Automotive Designer, Exterior Designer, Interior Designer, CMF Specialist, Two-Wheeler Designer, Commercial Vehicle Designer, and Digital Sculptor. This programme ensures students are globally benchmarked, contextually prepared for the Indian mobility landscape, and ready for the demands of both the Indian and international automotive industries.
The program fosters a design-driven mindset with a foundation in hands-on learning and collaboration while providing both traditional sketching and modeling skills and the latest digital tools and technologies used in the automotive and mobility design world.
