To assimilate fresh jewelry design ideas into the minds of budding designers of Unitedworld Institute of Design, Lifestyle Accessory Design Dept., Award-winning contemporary artist, silversmith and jeweler Prof. Rajesh Gogna from De Montfort University, Leicester (DMU) conducted Design Crafts workshop on 28th and 29th November 2018. He presented his past work while also briefing about the two projects titled as “Challenging the conventions of Jewellery” and “Lifestyle Products- Tabletop or Wall pieces.” The theme of the workshop was as interesting as it sounds-No addition + No subtraction taking 2D line into 3D form. Students brainstormed, ideated, and developed designs using paper models and Acrylic sheet using laser cutting. Finally, they constructed 3D models by folding and stretching. The products were displayed on the last day in a mini-exhibition-“Show &Tell” to showcase the skill level, creativity and innovative ideas of our students.
