The Sem 6 students of LSA visited SmrutiVan in the heart of Kutch, Gujarat with Assistant Professor Kavita A Chauhan under the module of Craft Study.
It was a typical example of showcasing the immense talent embedded in Indian at all levels…
It will serve justice only when you see the magnanimous scale of this museum as well the kind of conceptualization, design, craft and execution that has gone into building this!
It is amazing to see – how the crafts are amalgamated with the concept of creating a memorial for the EarthQuake victims(The 2001 Gujarat earthquake, also known as the Bhuj earthquake, occurred on 26 January at 08:46 am IST.), seamlessly incorporating technology with it.
Every corner aesthetically done, every detail impeccable, every installation – inspiring!
It was a holistic experience for my design students and myself alike! It teaches something to everyone at the grass root level.
Everything right from the architecture to the installations, to the story telling and the narration… it is all worth a visit from any and every design Student – Indian or International!
