In collaboration with Hirenmay Mahanta (Ceo, i-Hub Gujarat) and Sambit Tripathy (CMD, Livelihood Alternatives), our team of professors, Rahul Bhattacharya, Kakoli Biswas, Anahita Suri, and Zankruti Raval, recently visited Bhubhaneshwar and Nuapatna to explore potential design interventions and create a marketing strategy for the Nuapatna Ikat weaving cluster. They had the opportunity to closely observe the ecology of Nuapatna and interact with master weavers, national/state awardees, and Shilpa Gurus.
During their visit, the team also attended the LA Start-Up Conclave at Shiksha O Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar and met start-up entrepreneurs, as well as local entrepreneurs in the Handloom sector. The trip led to new connections with local institutions and discussions about potential MOUs and future projects.
